enroll in this class
Do you think of yourself as a writer? In this class you may be surprised to know that how you talk when you are focused and free may prove you to be a perfectly expressive writer. We will record your stories and learn the art of editing and natural speaking techniques.
Breathe deeply. Choose four subjects you would like to write about.Make an outline for whatever story you choose. You will read aloud in class, which may be a key for your editing. You will send each story to me and I will also send you suggested edits.
At the end of this class, students will be able to: understand how your love of talking AND listening can transform you to a gifted expressive writer.
Instruction/Communication Method: Each week we will email back and forth, either your story in current form or whatever questions you may have. Keep in mind that the final stages of distribution for a podcast are technical, and this class will focus on your writing. We have a Yahoo group for you to receive assignments, ask questions and post stories for feedback. I will also include samples by accomplished women writers whose work is driven by a personal point of view.
This class is FOUR sessions which meet once a week at a mutual time for everyone.
- Unit 1: Choose four subjects you would like to write about. You will have one week to write on the first piece, and you can email me anytime.
- Unit 2: We will read our stories aloud for feedback. Continue to work on your story. You will be sent the work of four accomplished women writers for inspiration.
- Unit 3: Download a simple audio app for your computer. Quick Time Player is free for Mac and Windows. We also have alternatives if need-be. You will read your story aloud in whatever form it is and get feedback.
- Unit 4: You may write from one to four stories in this class. Whatever story you choose, you will read into your Audio App and play it back.
