In this course, we will explore how simple wonders of nature can inspire and enrich our writing practice.
Over a four-week period, we will explore how short memoir pieces can be inspired naturally and easily by noticing and reflecting on nature. Using both reading assignments and journal prompts, students will write a short essay each week.
Gain a better sense of oneness with nature through gentle journaling and writing practice.
Practice easy tools and techniques for noticing, appreciating, and reflecting on how experiences in nature encourage our learning, self-renewal, and healing.
Develop journaling practice focusing on remembrance of how nature serves to support, refresh, and restore our enthusiasm and gratitude with simplicity and harmony.
Delivery of weekly lessons and journal writing prompts will be made through e-mail (or a special group site). Participants will be invited to share their writings (or a synopsis of their writings) with the instructor for feedback and additional questions to ponder.

Student Skills, Equipment, and Time Required
Instructions for weekly assignments will be provided on-line via email and the Group IO site. Students will post their writings and responses via email or in the Groups.io site.
Students will be asked to purchase the book, "Wonder Walking: Enjoying the Wonders of Walking Outdoors" by Terilee Wunderman, available on www.Amazon.com and www.BN.com. Short readings from the book will be required each week.
Students will be asked to read and respond to at least one student's writings each week. Responses will focus on what the reader found moving, inspiring, and/or touching as well as any questions the piece prompted within the reader for which the reader wanted to know more.

SCN members: $128. Non-SCN members: $160.
Terilee Wunderman, Ph.D., is the author of Wonder Walking: Enjoying the Wonders of Walking Outdoors, an inspirational book to help notice and appreciate nature in order to experience a greater sense of health and well-being.
